Melanie Cook

 Many CMA students cycle through Ptarmigan Pediatrics during the course of their studies at Charter College in Wasilla. Melanie was our third one, about the time we were looking to hire a CMA for our clinic. We appreciated her dedication and hard work and jumped at the opportunity to bring her on board as soon as she completed her training in April 2009.

 Melanie was born and raised in Palmer, Alaska, but is well travelled, having visited 21 states and three countries. If you're in our clinic and think you're seeing double, it might be her twin sister visiting. Melanie is a recent graduate from Palmer High School and the youngest member of our staff, but don't let her age fool you -- she is adept at administering immunizations and allergy injections, and prepping patients for our doctors. Her versatility at working front desk and answering phones makes her a valuable asset to our team. She is also one of Mat-Su Borough's few certified car seat safety technicians, which allows her to assist parents in properly setting up their children's car seats.

Melanie has one son and enjoys being a mommy. Her other interests include church, watching football, playing soccer, camping, and sledding.
