Ptarmigan Pediatrics prides itself in being an
exceptional clinic where kids come first. Our staff is courteous,
friendly, and experienced in caring for children of all ages and with a
variety of medical conditions.
We have two talented pediatricians ready to serve your
medical needs -- Dr. Laura Peterson and
Dr. Bruce Hess. Despite the fact that these
two former US Air Force doctors have worked and trained together for years, are
good friends, and hold similar medical philosophies, it is the goal of
this clinic to schedule you with your pediatrician when
you call for an appointment. We feel this provides better continuity
of care.
These doctors are supported on the medical side by a
licensed practical nurse and three certified medical assistants. The office
support staff consists of an office manager, two receptionists and yours truly,
aka "rover." It is the goal of everyone working here to make your visit as
pleasant as possible and to provide you with the best quality service you and
your family deserve.
Ptarmigan Pediatrics is also dedicated to properly training future
medical professionals. Both doctors and their staff are mentors with Wasilla's Charter
College, providing externship opportunities where Certified Medical
Assistant (CMA) students hone their skills in an actual clinic
setting. We also help provide clinical experience for nursing students from University of Alaska, Anchorage
and elsewhere.
